Allen D. Carper, 66, of Dyersville, passed away Monday, February 20, 2023, at his home.




Allen was born on July 4, 1956, in Chicago, IL, the son of Kay Hodges and Vance Carper. He married Brenda Murray on August 14, 1982. He and Brenda spent their early years together in California until they moved to Iowa in 1991.


Survivors include his six children: Monique (Joseph Yurkovich) Crosby of Yreka, CA, Angel (Ryan) Long of Dyersville, Amanda (Brian) Dudrey of Cedar Rapids, Anthony Carper of California, Ashley (John) Cahill of Texas, and Allen (Cari) Carper, II of Colesburg; his mother, Kay Hodges of Yreka, California; his 12 grandchildren, Nykolas Crosby, Logan, Landon, Atton, and Ryla Long, Amelia Carper, Dacia and Jackson Cahill, Drake, Xoey, Xabella, and Xander Carper; in-laws: Sandra Murray of Cedar Rapids, Shirley (Richard) Kenny of Ryan, Marilyn (Chuck) Jones of Manchester, Betty (Larry) Hicks both of Manchester, Joyce (Greg) Trey of Strawberry Point, Bill (Joann) Murray of Ryan, Mike (Kelley) Murray of Marion, Pat (Tanya) Murray of Manchester, Vicky Murray of Dubuque, and Kimberly Murray of Manchester; four grand puppies, Xena, Hotch, and Olivia Dudrey, and Maya Carper; and many nieces and nephews.


Allen was preceded in death his wife, Brenda, his parents-in-law, Francis and Minnie Maybell Murray; his 3 brothers-in-law: David, Franklin, and Robert Murray; and his step-father, David Hodges.


A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, March 5, 2023 from 2-6pm in Manchester Siebert Hall.
