HOLY CROSS, IOWA Anita F. Wulfekuhle, 91, of Oak Crest Manor in Dyersville and formerly of Holy Cross died Tuesday, May 3, 2016, at Oak Crest Manor surrounded by her family. Visitation will be held from 1 – 8 p.m. Friday, May 6, 2016, at Kramer Funeral Home in Holy Cross where the Scherrman-Peterson American Legion Post 656 will gather at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue 9 – 10 a.m. Saturday, at the funeral home prior to funeral services. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 7, 2016, at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Holy Cross, with burial in the church cemetery. Rev. Noah Diehm will officiate. Anita was born October 31, 1924, in Petersburg, the daughter of John and Melania (Bruggeman) Knipper. She married Albin D. Wulfekuhle on May 10, 1948, in Petersburg. Together they farmed and raised their family near Holy Cross. She enjoyed cooking and baking, gardening, quilting, cards, bingo and her family. She was a member of the Holy Cross Parish, its Altar and Rosary Society and the Catholic Order of Foresters Court 881 Legion of Honor. Survivors include her children: John (Bonnie) and Jim (Penny), both of Holy Cross, Mark (Janet) and Lyle (Sandy), both of Farley, Elaine (Allan “Chub”) Schieltz of Luxemburg, Wayne (Kim) of Asbury, Marcia (Ron) Lehman of Dyersville and Linda (Robert) Broessel, of Dubuque; a daughter-in-law, Sharon (Dennis) Wulfekuhle-Hefel of Sherrill; 29 grandchildren and 41great grandchildren and expecting 4 more; 2 siblings: Donna Manternach of Manchester, Paul (Delaine) Knipper of Dyersville; in-laws, Gladys Knipper of Dyersville and Harold Heyer of Merced, CA, She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Albin on Aug. 23, 1989, two children, Jane in infancy, and Phil on Jan. 5, 2000; siblings: Nellie (Richard) Steffen, Virgil Knipper, Gladys Heyer; and in-laws: Gerald Manternach, Viola (LaVern) Gaul, Bernice (Gib) Lansing, Verena (Joe) Kluesner, Marita (Francis) Cook and Edwin Wulfekuhle.
