Survivors include her husband, Ed, of Dyersville; 4 sons: Ed, Jr. (Libby) of Redfield, IA, Ken (Linda) of Tucson, AZ, Stan (Carol) of Guttenberg, IA and Jeff (Nanci) of Culver City, CA; 4 daughters: Carol Rosauer of Palm Springs, CA, Pat (Jim) McCormick of Dallas Center, IA, Mari (Dave) Vorwald of Dyersville and Annette Ray of Coralville, IA; 15 grandchildren: Robin Kauder, Eric (Darlene) Rosauer, Amy, Sarah and Andrew Friedman, Keith (Jolene), Karl, Terry Friedmann, Katie and Molly McCormick, Jason and T.J. Vorwald, Jill (Russ) Overton, Roxanne and Adam Friedmann; 1 step-grandson, Anthony Klein; 5 great-grandchildren: Rebecca and Alexandra Friedmann, Dakota Vorwald, Tristen Overton and Colby Friedmann; 5 sisters-in-law: Elsie Franzen, Irene Franzen, Margaret Franzen, Ruth Lensing and Jean Friedmann; 1 brother-in-law, Alfred Friedmann. She was preceded in death by 4 infant siblings: Catherine, Frank, Roman and Alois; 6 brothers: Baptist (Bob), Joe, Leo, Hugo, Roman (Jim) and John Franzen; 2 sisters: Mary Franzen and Clara Ehler; 1 granddaughter: Monica McCormick Anne Kathryn Friedmann was born September 27, 1921 in St. Lucas, Iowa, the daughter of John T. and Anna (Boyer) Franzen. She graduated from Aquinas High School in LaCrosse, WI, Class of 1939 and earned her Nursing Diploma at Loyola University in Chicago. She worked at Columbus Hospital in Chicago, Riverview Care Center in Guttenberg and frequently cared for the elderly in the community. She married Edward B. Friedmann on February 15, 1944 at St. Luke Church in St. Lucas, Iowa. Together they farmed in the Waterloo, St. Lucas and Luxemburg areas until retirement in 1979. Anne was a homemaker and was very active as a volunteer both in her parish and her community. She was a member of the Archdiocesan Council of Catholic Women, twice assuming the Deanery Presidency. Anne volunteered for many years at Oak Crest Manor. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America, the Order of Martha and the Resurrection Choir. Anne's favorite hobby was gardening. Memorials are preferred to the charity of the donor's choice.
