Annette H Matt

Obituary Annette H. Matt, age 89, of Garnavillo, IA, formerly of Midlothian, IL, died Friday, October 29, 2021, at the Guttenberg Care Center. She was born on August 30, 1932 in Garnavillo, IA, the daughter of Louis and Anna (Fisher) Matt Jr. Annette received education through 10th grade at St. Josephs Catholic School in Garnavillo; then attended Immaculate Conception Academy in Dubuque and graduated in 1950. She joined the Sisters of St. Francis in Dubuque in 1952 where she taught music; received her habit as Sister Alice Ann and a bachelors degree from Briar Cliff University. Annette expressed her love of music with a long career as a music teacher during which she earned a masters degree in music education from DePaul University. A love of travel took Annette on numerous trips around the world with family and friends. She will be remembered for her caring nature and contagious, happy spirit that always brought a smile to those she was around. Annette is survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and many friends. Annette was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, James, David, Francis & Louis Matt III; twin brothers, John & Joseph Matt in infancy; sisters, Alice Matt, Vivian Hebb & Edith Matt.
