Tony is survived by his wife Alma, 6 children: Ken (Janice), Bob (Sue), Dan (Joyce), Bill (friend Sandi Boardman) Willenborg, Joyce (John) Tierney all of Dyersville and Judy (Curt) Keplinger of Geneseo, IL; 5 step-children: Wilma (Don) Rausch, Gene (Tanya) Schlichte of Dyersville, Joyce (John) Goffinet of Monticello, Donna (Steve) Hunter of Hopkinton and Lt. Col. Mark (Maureen) Schlichte of Rapid City, SD; 13 granchildren, 19 step-grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, 13 step-great-grandchildren, a brother, Joseph Willenborg of Dyersville and 2 sisters: Helen Mock of Dyersville and Mary Poire of Dubuque. He was preceded in death by his first wife Mildred, a granddaughter, Beth Willenborg, a step-son, Gary Schlichte, a brother, Bernard Willenborg and 4 sisters: Marcella Brunsman, Viola Willenborg, Sister Francita Willenborg and Rita Schlung. A Tony Willenborg memorial fund has been established. The family wishes to thank the staff at Oak Crest Manor in Dyersville and Hospice of Dubuque for the excellent care and concern they showed for Tony throughout his illness. Condolences accepted and information at www.kramerfuneral.com. Tony was born on August 18, 1918 in New Vienna, Iowa, the son of Frank and Mary (Mescher) Willenborg. He married Mildred Kruse on October 16, 1948. She died on May 3, 1965. Tony then married Alma (Greiner) Schlicte on October 19, 1968. Tony farmed and worked at the former Dubuque Packing Co. and he and Alma owned and operated the Ritz restaurant in Dyersville until his retirement in 1982. Tony was a member of St. Francis Xavier Parish, Dyersville Legion Post 137, New Vienna Post Veterans and Foreign Wars, Knights of Columbus and was a former Board Member of the Dyersville Commercial Club.
