Arnold Louis Allamand

SCOTCH GROVE, IOWA Arnold L. “Arnie” Allamand, 73, of Scotch Grove, Iowa, passed away March 8, 2021, at Mercy Medical Center, Iowa City, Iowa. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, March 12, 2021 at St. Patrick in Anamosa, Iowa with Rev. Nick March officiating. Military honors to follow mass accorded by American Legion Post # 13. Arnold was born September 24, 1947 in Anamosa, Iowa the son of Lawrence and Emma (Joslin) Allamand. He married Mary Bonert on February 8, 1969, at St. Paul Catholic Church,Worthington, Iowa. After graduating from Anamosa Highschool, Arnie served in the US Army from 1966-1968 in the Vietnam War. He then worked many years in construction until retirement. He enjoyed spending time outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. He loved his time with family, especially his granddaughter, Madison. Arnold is survived by his wife, Mary; a daughter, Kathy (Jim) Wilgenbusch of Peosta; a granddaughter, Madison Wilgenbusch; a sister, Roma Joslin of Palmer, Alaska; in-laws: Patty Bonert Farley, Ron (Gail) Bonert of Dyersville, Steve (Jane) Bonert of Hopkinton, Denise Allamand of Marion. He is preceded in death by his son, Mark Allamand; his parents; parents-in-law, Leo and Rita Bonert; siblings: Mary, Polly, Pamalea, Lenny , Larry, Donna, and Everett; in-laws: Betty (Frosty) Smith, Carl Bonert, Jerome Bonert. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to American Cancer Society.
