Bette Fitzsimmons

COLESBURG, IOWA Bette Edna E. Fitzsimmons, 83, of Colesburg, Iowa died Thursday, May 21, 2009, at St. Luke's Hospital, Cedar Rapids, Iowa after an automobile accident. Friends may gather for a celebration of Bette's life at 3 p.m., Saturday, May 30, 2009 at her home, 417 Hubbard St, Colesburg, Iowa. We will toast Bette's life with champagne and chocolate . She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Eugene Sr, and son, Eugene Jr, grandson Matthew Cohill, 2 sisters and 1 brother. Bette was born on August 28, 1925 in Baltimore, MD., the daughter of George and Mayretta (Reidemann) Franklin. She married Eugene Fitzsimmons on August 7, 1945 in Baltimore Maryland. Bette was a warm person who loved to do needlework,cross stitch samplers, quilts and beading. She enjoyed cooking, entertaining and loved her puppies. Most of all she loved being a homemaker and mom. Survivors include her daughter, Maureen Fitzsimmons of Colesburg, IA, a granddaughter, Amanda and husband Ken Taylor,of Dubuque, IA. 2 great granddaughters: McKenna and Madelyn Taylor, daughter-in-law, Bobbi Lovenduski of Burlington, NJ. and numerous nieces, nephews and special friends.
