Betty Mae Leliefeld, 82, of Guttenberg, died Saturday, Jan. 5, 2013, at the Guttenberg Care Center. Betty donated her body to the Department of Anatomy at the University of Iowa through the Deeded Body Program. A memorial mass will be held Sunday, Jan. 27, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Marys Catholic Church, Guttenberg. Betty was born June 27, 1930, in Guttenberg, seventh of 15 children, to Daniel and Rose (Kleine) Leliefeld. She received her education at St. Marys Catholic School, graduating in 1947. After graduation she joined the work force at various factories until she retired after 10 plus years of service at the Ertl Toy Factory in Dyersville. She enjoyed word puzzles, reading as well as her weekly breakfasts with her friends at Rauschs Caf. Betty will be forever loved and cherished by her sisters, Lois Goerdt and Joan White of Guttenberg and Katie Ben of Dubuque; a brother, Bill (Rita) Leliefeld of Guttenberg and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brothers and sisters, Norman (Lois) Leliefeld, Dorothy (Orvin) Knudtson, Bernard (Bernita) Leliefeld, Vera (Cliff) Mirocko, Opal (Robert) Goerdt, Mary (Manford) Sherriff, Kathleen Leliefeld, Pat (Glenn) Bolsinger, Carol Rose Leliefeld, Gary (Corinne) Leliefeld; three brothers-in-law, Richard Goerdt, Harry Ben and Keith White and four nieces and nephews.
