Byron Franklin Olinger, age 93, of Guttenberg, IA, died Friday, March 2, 2007, at Guttenberg Care Center in Guttenberg, IA He was born the son of the James and Attilia (Chandler) Olinger December 28, 1913, in Afton, Iowa. Byron graduated from the Afton High School, farmed and then worked for the Telephone Company for 37 years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, trapping, golfing, riding horses and playing cards. He was a 60-year Masonic lodge member and a charter member of Eagles Aerie #4114. He is survived by his wife Ann Olinger; one daughter, Nancy (Richard) Stafford of Tempe, Arizona, one son, James (Marilyn) Olinger of Shambaugh, Iowa, two step-daughters, Phoebe (Rick) Johnson of Guttenberg and Louise (Eric) Loeffelholz of Earlville, four grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, seven step-grandchildren and eleven step-great grandchildren.
