Calista Steffen

Calista L. Steffen, 80, of New Vienna, Iowa died Saturday, December 19, 2009, at Stone Hill Care Center, Dubuque, Iowa after a short illness. Friends may call from 3 - 8 p.m. Tuesday, December 22, 2009 at Kramer Funeral Home in Dyersville, Iowa where a parish scripture service will be held at 4 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, December 23, 2009 at St. Boniface Catholic Church, New Vienna, Iowa with burial in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Farley, Iowa. Officiating will be Rev. John O'Connor. Calista was born on May 12, 1929, in Farley, Iowa, the daughter of Fred and Elizabeth (Nadermann) Steffen. Calista was a homemaker on the family farm for many years and worked at Mercy Medical Center in her later years. Survivors include 2 sisters, Ardella Steffen of New Vienna and Loretta Weyer of Ferdinand, Indiana, and a sister-in-law Helen Steffen of Dubuque, Iowa, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by 4 brothers, Fred, Alphonse, Leo and Ambrose Steffen.
