Carl William Tuecke

Carl William Tuecke, age 89, of Guttenberg, IA, died Saturday, May 6, 2006, at Guttenberg Care Center following a Long Illness. Carl was the second son of John and Anna (Mahowald) Tuecke, born September 7, 1916, at Pleasant Ridge, near Guttenberg. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Johns Lutheran Church in Guttenberg and graduated from Guttenberg High School. He married Ruth Corson on April 9, 1938, at Decorah Lutheran Church in Decorah. Carl and Ruth lived in Garnavillo for twenty years where he began his career as a self-employed electrician, first with his father John and later with his son Bill. In 1965, they moved to Waverly, Iowa where Carl became the campus electrician for Wartburg College from which he retired in 1983. In 1993, they returned to Carls hometown of Guttenberg. Carl is survived by his wife of 68 years Ruth; sons, John (Pat) Tuecke of Dekalb, Illinois, Bill (Mary) Tuecke of Marion, Iowa and Daniel (Pat) Tuecke of Reno, Nevada; eight grandchildren, one step-grandson, and 25 great-grandchildren, Jeff (Becky) Tuecke and daughter, Addison, Steve (Karla Horsch) Tuecke and children Max, Eva and Alex, Mark Tuecke and son, Isaac, Kari (Ron) Horak and children Luke, Jordan (Jenn), Andria, Grant, and Anna, Scott (Deb Bonwell) Tuecke and children Justin, Joshua Tuecke, Cody Bonwell, Makala, Haley, Carly Tuecke, Andrew (Beth) Tuecke and Children Mary, Jacob, Abigail, Baruch, Troy Tuecke and Children Zachary, Kayla and Samantha, Eric (Tina) Tuecke and Daughter Katy, Rickey (Susan Mueller) Jones and son Teddy; two sisters, Anna Mae Anderson of Brookfield, Wisconsin and Norma (Norbert) Strauss of Wisconsin and Florida; and by many beloved nieces and nephews, including Myra Corson who made her home with Carl and Ruth for several years. Carl was preceded in death by his parents, John and Anna Tuecke, his brother Orville and sister-in-law Christine Tuecke and his brother-in-law Arthur Anderson.Visitation: Tuesday 4:00-8:00 P.M.
