NORTH BUENA VISTA, IOWA Carol A. Errthum, 67, of North Buena Vista, Iowa died Monday, October 21, 2013 at her home. Friends may call from 2 - 8 p.m. Wednesday, October 23, 2013, at Kramer Funeral Home in Holy Cross, Iowa. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, October 24, 2013, at Immaculate Conception Church, North Buena Vista with inurnment in the church cemetery. Officiating will be Rev. Marvin Bries. Carol was born on March 2, 1946, in Holy Cross, the daughter of Clarence and Emma (Ellerbach) Schultz. She graduated from Holy Cross Catholic School with the Class of 1964. She married Nicholas Errthum on July 8, 1967, in Holy Cross and raised their family on an acreage in North Buena Vista, Iowa. She worked outside the home at Tri-State Blueprint, Eska Company and Flexsteel Industries for 22 years. She dearly loved her grandchildren and spending time with her family. Her hobbies included camping, fishing, woodworking, sewing, quilting, playing cards with her sisters, gardening and craftmaking. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Church in North Buena Vista, it's Rosary Society and served as an Eucharistic Minister. Survivors include a son Rodney (Karen) Errthum, and a daughter, Kim (Daniel) Ludovissy, both of the Buena Vista area; 5 grandchildren: Molly and Wyatt Errthum and Logan, Dylan and Owen Ludovissy; siblings: LaVonne (Earl) Brimeyer of North Buena Vista, David (Nancy) Schultz and Donna (Robert) Schmidt both of Durango, Connie (James) Klein of Dubuque, Ronald (Marilyn) Schultz and Sherry (Marvin) Klein, both of of Holy Cross, Cindy (Paul) Ludovissy of North Buena Vista; 5 brothers-in-law: Robert LeGrand, Leon (Elaine) Errthum, Allen (Carol) Errthum, all of Dubuque, Jerome (Marlene) Errthum of Sherrill and Ed (Deb) Errthum of Holy Cross; 4 sisters-in-law: Gen Pike of Houston, TX, Mary Hayes of Glencoe, MN, Kathy Rudebeck of Dallas, TX and Barb (John) Taylor of Holy Cross, Phyllis Errthum of Holy Cross. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Nicholas in 2006, an infant daughter, Lori; her parents-in-law, Leo and Frances Errthum, a sister, Janice LeGrand and 4 brothers-in-law: Don (Carol) Errthum, Richard Hayes, Robert Errthum, Wayne Rudebeck. We would like to thank Hospice of Dubuque for their outstanding care and compassion for our family.
