Carol Platz

Carol Ann Langel Platz, 66 of Dyersville, Iowa passed away Wednesday, June 28, 2017, at Mercy Medical Center, in Dyersville Iowa, after a courageous battle with cancer with the family by her side. Visitation will be held 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday, July 2, 2017, at Kramer Funeral Home, 750 12th Ave SW in Dyersville where a parish vigil service will be held at 2 p.m. Visitation will continue Monday July 3, 2017 from 9 to 10a.m at Kramer Funeral Home prior to funeral services. Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, July 3, 2017, St. Francis Xavier Basilica, Dyersville, Iowa . Rev. Dennis Quint will officiate. Carol was born December 5, 1950 at home in Luxemburg, Iowa the daughter of Raymond and Henrietta (Kluesner) Langel. She married Charles Platz on August 31st 2013 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Carol graduated from Leo High school in Holy Cross, she worked at Ertl Company for 29 years, and she then worked at Modern Fold for 12 years. She loved spending time at their cabin on Lake Dehli, she spent countless hours tending to her yard and flowers. She was an avid Hawkeye fan, and Kansas City Chiefs fan. Survivors include her husband, Charlie, siblings: Wilfred Langel of Oelwein, Richard (Margie) Langel of Oelwein, Charles Langel of Waterloo, Robert Langel of Dubuque, Verna Mae White of Monticello, Patricia Vaske of Garnavillo, Eldora (Anthony) Koopmann of Dyersville, in-laws: Robert (Rosie) Platz, Dan (June) Platz both of Dyersville, Dale (Sue) Platz of Omaha, NE, Carol (Chuck) Wessels of Dubuque, Sandy (Dwight) Schoening of Glenwood, IA, Jane (Bill) Sullivan of Oakdale, MN, Susan (Brad) Helle of Cedar Rapids, sisters-in-law: Shirley Langel of Mt. Pleasant and Helen Langel of Luxemburg, She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Henrietta Langel, sister, Kathy Kerper, brothers: Jerome and Bernard Langel, parents-in-law: Gib and Valeria Platz, sisters-in-law: Evey and Judy Langel and Darlene Hoffmann, brothers-in-law: Marvin Vaske and Jim Kerper, niece & nephews: Christopher White, Charlie Langel II and Mary Langel.
