Carol Schieltz

Carol A. Schieltz, 74 of Luxemburg, Iowa passed away Thursday, February 28, 2019, at the Guttenberg Care Center in Guttenberg. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m.-11:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 5, 2019, at Kramer Funeral Home in Holy Cross. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:00 noon, March 5, 2019, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Luxemburg, with burial in the church cemetery. Rev. Noah Diehm will officiate. Carol was born September 27, 1944 the daughter of John and Placidia (Oyen) Blondin. She graduated from Wahlert High School and Clarke University. She married Frederick Schieltz on September 20, 1985 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Dubuque, Iowa. Carol loved to read, work on word search puzzles and tending her flower garden. She also like watching the Iowa Hawkeyes and the Chicago Cubs. Survivors include her husband Fred, brother, Dennis (Mary) Blondin of Batavia, IL, brother-in-law, Richard (Diane) Schieltz of Luxemburg, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and parents-in-law, Nick and Julitta Schieltz. Memorials may be directed to the University of Iowa Stead Family Children’s Hospital and the New Vienna & Luxemburg Fire and EMS building project. The Schieltz family would like to thank the Guttenberg Hospital, Guttenberg Care Center and St. Croix Hospice, especially Cathleen for their wonderful care.
