Obituary Carolyn Janet (Tomkins) Carrier, age 83, of Guttenberg, IA, died Monday, August 27, 2018, at the Guttenberg Care Center. She was born on May 27, 1935 to Roy and Agusta (Blaker) Tomkins on the family farm outside of Osterdock. Carolyn received her education from the Dingesville Country School and Colesburg High School where she graduated with the class of 1953. On June 9, 1956, Carolyn was united in marriage with Jerome "Bud" Carrier at St. Marys Church in Guttenberg and this union blessed them with 7 children. Making a home for her family was a full time job but Carolyn did find time to make quilts, sing with the St. Marys Choir and decorate cakes for family and friends. Carolyn is survived by her children; Greg (Heidi) Carrier of Iowa City, Becky (John) Choiniere of Stillwater MN, Chris (Kaye) Carrier of Urbandale, Bruce Carrier of Guttenberg, Cathy (Stan) Hines of Guttenberg, Lisa (Bill) Robinson of Garnavillo and Kevin (Kelly) Carrier of Hudson, WI; grandchildren Paul and Neil Carrier, John (Kate) and Daniel (Natasha) Choiniere, Brian and Brett Carrier, Adam and Sydney Hines, Jane and Thomas Robinson, and Lauren and Reid Carrier; great grandchildren Hannah and Amy Choiniere; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sister, Dorothy Palmer; brothers, Harvey, Paul Richard, James Cecil and Leland Tomkins.
