Services are private.Casmera "Cassie" Grutzmacher, age 90, of Garnavillo, formerly of Chicago, died Friday, February 15, 2013, at Guttenberg Care Center. She was born the daughter of Felix and Catherine (Dombrowski) Madej, January 10, 1923 in Chicago. Cassie graduated from high school in Chicago and was a secretary, preschool teacher and a nurses aid. She loved to read and was a member of Roman Catholic Polish American Alliance. Survives include two daughters, Susan (Bob) Bodish and grandson, Matthew of Garnavillo and Mary Kay Mason and granddaughters, Rebekah and Elya of North Carolina; two sons, William Grutzmacher of Phoenix, Arizona and Steven Grutzmacher of Dubuque; eight grandchildren and one great-grandson. She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Thomas and three brothers. Service Information A service summary is not available
