Cecelia Schmelzer

Cecelia Ruth Schmelzer, age 88, of Garnavillo, IA, died Saturday, July 25, 2015, at the Guttenberg Care Center. She was born on January 23, 1927, in National, Iowa, the daughter of Cerenus and Silveria (Nieland) Eilers. Cecelia received her education locally spent much of her life making a home and caring for her children. Cecelia along with her then husband started Paradise Valley Camp Resort and operated it for several years. She is survived by her two children, Carol Ann Schmelzer and Kim Schmelzer; two grandchildren, Sky and Kim Jordan Schmelzer; siblings, Mary (Ronald) Reimer, Judy (Gary) Knickerbocker, Tillie Lestina; two sisters in laws, Joyce Eilers and Corrine Eilers and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, three children, Gene, Walter and a baby boy in infancy; one sister, Teresa in infancy; two brothers, LaVern and Cyril "Bud" Eilers.In Lieu of flowers, memorials are requested to be sent to the Alzheimer's Association.Memorial Service: Tuesday 11:00 A.M.
