Charlotte Ann (Krogman) Oberbroeckling was born the daughter of Edward and Helen (Saeugling) Krogman, May 25, 1929, in Elma, Iowa. She died Saturday, March 15, 2008, at Mercy Medical Center in Dubuque, following a courageous battle with cancer. Charlotte graduated from St. Marys Catholic School in Guttenberg and attended the State Teachers College in Cedar Falls where she received her teaching certificate. She was united in marriage with Donald Oberbroeckling January 29, 1952 at St. Marys Catholic Church in Guttenberg. She taught country school, worked for the Guttenberg Care Center, and was a homemaker. Charlotte was a member of St. Josephs Rosary Society and the American Legion Auxiliary. She and loved to cook, clean, paint, can food, and especially spend time with her family. Survivors include her husband, Donald; one daughter, Marcia (Christopher) Franklin of Danville, Illinois; three sons, Michael (Barbara) Oberbroeckling of Garnavillo, Mark (Jane) Oberbroeckling of Austin, Minnesota, and Gary (Lynne) Oberbroeckling of Swisher; eight grandchildren, Erik (Fianc Emily Hanson) Oberbroeckling, Ashley and Ryan Oberbroeckling, Jill and Ryan Franklin, Curtis and Kyle Oberbroeckling, and Allison Oberbroeckling; one brother-in-law, Duane OBrien of Volga; and several nieces and nephews.
