Clara Bader

Clara J. Rink Bader, 94, of Monticello died Sat. July 25, 2015, at Monticello Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Visitation will be held from 9:00 – 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 29, 2015, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Monticello where a Mass of Christian Burial will commence at 11:00 a.m. Rev. Paul Baldwin will officiate and burial will be at Castle Grove Catholic (Immaculate Conception) Cemetery. Clara was born Sept. 7, 1920, near Monticello the youngest child of Henry and Eliza (Dirks) Rink, Sr. Clara graduated from Monticello High School with the Class of 1938, receiving a Normal Training Certificate. On Oct. 6, 1941, Clara was united in marriage to Clarence Bader. Together they farmed in the Monticello and Anamosa areas. Clarence preceded her in death on April 9, 1983, and Clara moved to Monticello in 1986. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, ACCW and a past member of the Monticello Garden Club. Clara is survived by her children: Sharon (Gary) Ciha of Mechanicsville, Colleen Tobiason of Cedar Rapids and Jeffrey (Becky) Bader of Anamosa; 6 grandchildren; Paul (Rita Swales) of Lisbon, Jonathan (Elizabeth Billmeyer) Tobiason of Marion, Suzanne (Anthony Owens) Tobiason of Chicago, IL, Joseph and Justin Bader, both of Anamosa and Joshua Bader of Ft. Dodge; 3 step-great grandchildren; Miles (Jean Clipperton) Shultz of Ann Arbor, MI, Hannah Shultz of Silver Spring, MD and August Shultz of Iowa City; 6 great-grandchildren: Taylor, Jasper, Lena, Arlo, Evelyn and Amelia; a brother-in-law, James (Arlene) Bader of Marion. She is preceded in death by her husband, 4 brothers, 5 sisters, and 2 sisters-in-law. Memorials are preferred to Pennington Square, Camp Courageous of Iowa and Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
