Clara Krapfl

Clara C. Krapfl, 97, of Dyersville died Thursday, June 17, 2004, at Oak Crest Manor in Dyersville. Friends may call from 3-8:00 p.m. Sunday, June 20, 2004, at the Kramer Funeral Home in Dyersville Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, June 21, 2004, St Francis Xavier Basilica in Dyersville, Iowa with burial in St. Francis Cemetery. Mrs. Krapfl was born July 25, 1906, in New Vienna, Iowa the daughter of Frank and Mary (Croat) Buenker. She married Leonard H. Krapfl on November 22, 1927, in St. Boniface Catholic Church, New Vienna, IA. Together they farmed Northwest of Dyersville. They retired and moved to Dyersville in 1970. Clara was an excellent cook, she enjoyed baking and gardening. Survivors include four sons: Merle and Donna, Floyd and Carol, John and Velma and Bill and Karen, all of Dyersville; one daughter, Joan and Ralph Werner of Strawberry Point, IA; and a son-in-law, Jim Tauke, of Escanaba, MI; 25grandchildren and 36 great-grandchildren. Clara was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard, Sept 7, 1992, a daughter, Arlene Tauke, in 2001, six brothers, Joe, Lawrence, Gus, Gilbert, Frank and Al Buenker and a sister, Luella Kluesner.
