Clara Ronnebaum

Surviving are 1 son: A. Louis (Rose) Ronnebaum of Earlville, IA and 2 daughters: Mary Jo (David) White of Fayette, IA and Rosie Russell (fiancé Jocko Hinderks) of Iowa City, IA; 16 grandchildren: Nathan, Eric, Russell, August, Jr., Carl, Chris, Brian, Sarah, Gene, Curtis, Seth, Matthew, Joseph, Martha, Jon and Cathy; 21 great grandchildren; 1 sister, Kathryn (Roland) Wessel of Colesburg, IA, and a sister-in-law, Joan Bockenstedt, of Strawberry Point, IA; Clara was preceded in death by 10 siblings: Lawrence, Arthur, Sr. Leon, James, Joseph, Vincent, Charles, Clements John "Jack" and Daniel Bockenstedt and Laurene Hogan. Clara was born July 18, 1908, in Petersburg, Iowa the daughter of Clemons John and Clara (Vorwald) Bockenstedt. She attended the Ridgeville Country School until 8th grade and earned her high school diploma through American High School correspondence courses. From there she went on to bookkeeping school at Bayless Business College in Dubuque, Iowa. On October 19, 1939, Clara was united in marriage to Arnold Louis Ronnebaum in Petersburg. Together they farmed in the Petersburg area. Arnold preceded her in death on January 19, 1951. Clara will be remembered for her love of farming, her deep faith and her signature apple pies. She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.
