Cletus Meyer

Cletus was born on December 31, 1920 in Holy Cross, Iowa, the son of Anthony (Tony) and Elizabeth (Gotto) Meyer. He married Marie (Cook) on June 5, 1945 in North Buena Vista, Iowa. Cletus farmed all his life in the Holy Cross area then retired in 1976 when he moved to Holy Cross. Survivors include 2 sons: Jim (Sandy) Meyer of Holy Cross, Gerald (Norma) Meyer of Dubuque; 3 daughters: Diane (John) Kohlstedt of McGregor, Judy (Fred) Vorwald of Delhi and Laura (Al) Haas of Dyersville; 7 grandchildren: Jim (Shelly) Meyer, Dan (Becky) Meyer, Michelle (Matt) Breeze, Jeff (Heather) Meyer, Tom Kohlstedt, Amy Kohlstedt, Josh Haas, Jeff Haas and Jason (Nikki) Haas; 8 great-grandchildren and an expected great granddaughter, 3 sisters: Anna Errthum of Holy Cross, Ceil Schueller of Dubuque, Leona (John) Cook of New Vienna. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Marie in 1991, a granddaughter, Dawn Meyer and a sister Bernita Wagner.
