Clyde Kruse

Clyde Melvin Kruse, age 65, of Elkader, IA, died Thursday, March 26, 2009, at Central Community Hospital in Elkader, IA He was born the son of Alfred and Anita (Hakert) Kruse, January 11, 1944, near Garber, Iowa. Clyde received his education from the Garnavillo High School; served his country in the United States Army with a tour in Viet Nam, 1965-1967. He was a retired farmer, and enjoyed fishing, traveling, cooking, baking, harvesting walnuts, and was a member of Clay-Gar American Legion Post #723. On May 9, 1970, he was united in marriage with Janet Wagner at St. Michaels Catholic Church in Garber. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife Janet; one daughter, Heidi (Justin Snelson) Kruse of Lakeville, Minnesota; one son, Chad (Tara) Kruse of Peosta; two grandchildren, Alyssa Kruse and Paige Kruse; one sister, Arlene (Carrol) Harbaugh of Garnavillo; one brother, Curtis (Lucinda) Kruse of Calmar; one sister-in-law, Julie (Matthew) Cayler, and three brothers-in-law, Clyde (Peggy) Wagner, Thomas (Annette) Wagner, and Dale (Debra) Wagner. He was preceded in death by his parents; parents-in-law, Clarence and Hilda Wagner; and one brother, Clark.Casket Bearers: Kyle Kruse, Bradley Harbaugh, Brian Harbaugh, Travis Harbaugh, Shane Harbaugh,and Justin Harbaugh.Honorary Bearers: Clyde and Peggy Wagner, Gary and Penny Handke, William Kruse Jr., Leland Scheffert,and Bernard "Bud" Timmer.Visitation: Sunday 3:00 - 8:00 P.M.
