Corrine Tillis

DYERSVILLE, IOWA Corrine Mary Tillis, 83, of rural Dyersville, Iowa died Sunday, January 27, 2013, at Oak Crest Manor, Dyersville, Iowa. Friends may call from 9:30 - 11:30 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 31, 2013, at the Kramer Home in Dyersville. Funeral services will be at 12:00 Noon Thursday, Jan. 31, 2013 at St. Francis Xavier Basilica in Dyersville with burial in the church cemetery. Rev. Dennis Quint will officiate. Corrine was born September 25, 1929, in St. Donatus, Iowa the daughter of Norbert and Catherine (Malone) Heiar. She married Edward Henry Tillis on October 4, 1958, at Assumption Catholic Church in Charlotte, Iowa. Together they farmed near Charlotte on his home place for 30 years. They retired in 1988 when they moved to Petersburg. Surviving are her 2 daughters: Catherine "Kate" Tillis and Myrna Tillis, both of Dyersville, a son, Martin (Camille) Tillis of Bettendorf, Iowa, 1 grandson, Drake Tillis of Overland Park, KS and 2 step-grandchildren, Kimberly (Justin) Pate of Little Rock, AR and Zachary (Alyssa) Asmussen of Bettendorf, IA, a step-great-grandson, Henry Asmussen; 2 brothers: Lloyd Heiar of Clinton, IA and Wayne Heiar of Charlotte, IA; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a brother, Gerald Heiar, and a sister, Viola Heiar.
