Cyril "Cy" Pins

DYERSVILLE, IOWA Cyril “Cy” Pins, 85, of Dyersville died Friday February 24, 2017 at his home surrounded by his family. Visitation will be held from 2:00-7:30 p.m., Sunday, February 26, 2017, at Kramer Funeral Home, 750 12th Ave SW in Dyersville where a Vigil Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Dyersville American Legion Post 137 will host a service at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will continue from 9:00-10:00 a.m. at Kramer Funeral Home prior to funeral services. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, February 27, 2017, at St. Francis Xavier Basilica in Dyersville with burial in the church cemetery. Rev. Herbert Pins and Rev. Dennis Quint will con-celebrate. Cy was born June 6, 1931 in Worthington, Iowa, the son of John and Veronica (Ament) Pins. In 1952, Cy entered the U.S Army serving with the Military Police at Fort A.P. Hill in Virginia. He married Doris Kramer on November 16, 1968, in Farley, Iowa. Survivors include: his wife, Doris; children: Jody (Paul) Heid, Bridget (Michael) Williams, Nicholas (Christina) Pins; grandchildren: Jacob and Olivia Heid, Margaret and Patrick Williams, Aviana and Nico Pins. In-laws: Eileen Pins, Eldora Pins, Shirley Pins, Merlin (Lois) Kramer, Sister Margaret Anne Kramer, Marlene Kramer, Marilyn (David) Kluesner, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Veronica; his brothers: Vincent (Clara), Jerome (Ethel), Albert (Esther), James, Anthony (Lois), Paul (Lois), Mark (Lorraine), Louis, George; sisters: Sister Mary Ernest, OSF, Mary (Vince) Goedken, Clara Pins, Therese Pins. In-laws: Leonard and Margaret Kramer, Ruth (Dallas) Dolphin, Lloyd Kramer Cy was a member of the National Rural Letter Carriers Association, Dyersville Sportsman, American Legion Post 137, and a charter member of the Beckman High School Booster Club.
