Surviving are his mother, Cherie Willenbring of Peosta, his father, Rick (Renee) McBride of North Liberty, 2 sisters, Justine and Téa McBride, his maternal grandparents, Steve & Marge Willenbring of Dyersville, his paternal grandparents, Veronica McBride of Iowa City and John McBride of Muscatine, a great grandfather, Lawrence Willenbring of Dyersville, a great grandmother, Loretta Ronek of Cascade, a step grandmother, Joan Norton of North Liberty, and his aunts, Lisa (Brian) Johnson of East Dubuque, Ill., Jennifer (Jayme) Wulfekuhle of New Vienna, Chris (John) Poe of Crawfordsville, IA, Cindy (Bob) Johnston of Columbus Junction, IA, Ann (Vincente) Martinez of Peru, Indiana, and Cathy McBride of Cedar Rapids, 15 cousins and many great aunts and uncles. DJ was born May 16, 1990 in Iowa City, Iowa the son of Cherie Willenbring and Rick McBride. He just completed his sophomore year at Western Dubuque High School in Epworth where he was a goalie on the Boys Varsity Soccer Team and played on the football team. DJ worked at Evergreen Lawn Care and at Pizza Ranch in Peosta. He loved paint ball, the Dallas Cowboys, the color orange and playing with his cousins.
