Daniel J. Nurre, 50, of Dyersville, Iowa died Sunday, January 1, 2012, as a result of a car accident. Daniel was born August 7, 1961, the son of Ralph and Lillian (Werner) Nurre. He was a graduate of Beckman H.S. class of 1980. Dan married Linda Louise Steffen on November 15, 1980, in Dyersville, IA, and had 4 beautiful daughters together. They later divorced. He married Karla Ann Gassmann on October 5, 1996, in Dubuque, IA, and are also divorced. Friends may call from 3:00 - 8:00 p.m. Friday, January 6, 2012, at Kramer Funeral Home in Dyersville where a vigil service will be held at 4:00 p.m. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, January 7, 2012, at St. Francis Xavier Basilica, Dyersville, Iowa with burial in the church cemetery. Rev. Noah Diehm will officiate. Daniel enjoyed various activities such as goofing around when playing golf with his buddies or daughters, even if he didn't win. He played card games in which he would always try to mold the cards to overbid his opponents. At work or play, Dan enjoyed music, even if all he could play was the air guitar; he played it well. Although he was a handyman, Dan also enjoyed shopping and spending time with his daughters. Harley his cat will greatly miss him, too. Survivors include his 3 daughters: Jennifer Butler (Jared Manuel) of Anadarko, OK, Kim Nurre of Cedar Falls and Melissa Nurre of Platteville, Wi, parents: Ralph and Lillian Nurre of Dyersville, siblings: Dennis (Karen) Nurre of Dyersville, Daryl (Rosie) Nurre of Petersburg, his twin-Diane (Lonnie) Osbourne of Coal Valley, IL, Debra (Brian) Greenwood of Epworth. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Kristi L. Nurre on 09/11/2011, grandparents: Clem and Rose Nurre, and George and Millie Werner.
