Darlene C. Fangmann

NEW VIENNA, IOWA



Darlene C. Fangmann, 76, of New Vienna passed away Thursday, January 6, 2022, at Regional Medical Center in Manchester.



Visitation will be held from 2 – 8 p.m. on Monday, January 10, 2022, at Kramer Funeral Home in Dyersville. Visitation will continue Tuesday at the funeral home from 9 - 10 a.m. prior to funeral mass.



A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, January 11, 2022, at St. Boniface Catholic Church in New Vienna with burial in church cemetery. Rev. Tyler Raymond will officiate.



Darlene was born on November 21, 1945, in Worthington, Iowa, the daughter of Val and Clara (Krogmann) Goedken. She graduated from St. Paul High School in Worthington with the Class of 1964. She met Joe Fangmann at a dance in Worthington on June 19, 1963, and they were married on May 30, 1967, at St. Paul Catholic Church in Worthington. Together they farmed outside of New Vienna and raised a large family there. When her children were grown, she cooked for St. Boniface School for 22 years. She was a faithful servant of St. Boniface parish, cleaning church and cooking for funeral dinners.



Survivors include her husband, Joe; children: Rose Fangmann, Bill (Jennifer) Fangmann, Bob Fangmann, Jim (Susan) Fangmann, John Fangmann, Paul (Pam) Fangmann, Mary (Chris) Francis and Judy (Chris) Jackson; 12 grandchildren: Stacey (Jeremy) Mark and Tyler Fangmann, Grace, Meg, Ruth and Laura Fangmann, Isaac, Julia, Aaron and Anna Fangmann, and Henry and Hazel Francis; great grandson, Alan Fangmann; siblings and in-laws: Verna Hoefer, Betty (Arnie) Greif, Charlie (Patti) Goedken, Bonnie McManus and Don Goedken; in-laws: Kay Goedken, Marlene Goedken and Bob Schaul.



She was preceded in death by her parents, parents-in-law, Frank and Regina Fangmann;

2 grandchildren: Peter and Jacob Fangmann; siblings and in-laws: Gerald Hoefer, Clara (Fred) Davidshofer, Ed Goedken, Walter Goedken and Marjorie Schaul.
