David Fensterman

David Orval Fensterman, age 66, of Colesburg, died Saturday, March 28, 2009, at Keokuk Area Hospital in Keokuk following a sudden illness. He was born the son of Orval and Dorothy (Blaker) Fensterman, June 15, 1942, in Cedar Rapids. David graduated from the Colesburg High School; served his country in the United States Army, and was employed by Steger Construction Co. of Dyersville. On September 30, 1967 he was united in marriage with Karyl Pufahl at St. Johns Lutheran Church in Guttenberg. He was member of the 40 & 8 Voiture #584, Guttenberg American Legion Post 373, and retired member of the Colesburg Fire Department. He enjoyed Golfing (especially father-daughter tournaments), bowling, fishing, hunting, and spending time with family. He is survived by his wife Karyl; two daughters, Kim Fensterman of Cedar Rapids and Jenny (Steve) Scheurenbrand of Indianola; two sons, Mike (Tammy) Fensterman of Cedar Rapids and Andy (Maggie) Fensterman of Colesburg; three sisters, Darla Kickbush of Carlisle, Marsha Fensterman of Ely and Diane (Bill) Strain of Mt. Home, Arkansas; three brothers, Norman (Carol) Fensterman of Dubuque, Charles (Marge) Fensterman of Colesburg, and John (Kathy) Fensterman of Indianola; three grandchildren, Stephanie Fensterman, Rachel Fensterman, and Jordyn Fensterman; and six grand puppies.
