David Hess

Survivors include his wife, Marlene, 2 daughters: Jenni (Jon) Merkes of Manchester and Shelly Hess of Dyersville, 3 grandchildren: Mikaylah and Austin of Dyersville and Emma of Manchester, his mother, Edna Hess of Dyersville and nephew, Cory Hess of Dubuque. He was preceded in death by his father Clarence, 2 brothers: Steven and Donald and a sister Mary. David was born on October 25, 1949 in Dubuque, Iowa, the son of Clarence and Edna (LeGrand) Hess. He married Marlene Jaeger on April 11, 1975 in Dyersville, Iowa. David served in the Vietnam War from June 1969 - July 1971. He retired from the Dyersville Post Office on April 1, 2005. David enjoyed watching football and basketball on T.V., golf, stockcar racing, fishing and spending time with his family and grandchildren.
