Delores Klemp

Delores Mae Klemp, age 91, of Guttenberg, IA, died Monday, February 22, 2016, at the Guttenberg Care Center. She was born on August 28, 1924, in the Farmersburg Township, the daughter of Charles and Helen (Matull) Meyer. Delores was baptized at St. Paul Lutheran Church on October 26, 1924 by Rev Braun. She was later confirmed at St. Peters Lutheran Church on July 4, 1937 by Rev H. H. Steege. Delores received her grammar education in rural Garnavillo and graduated from the Garnavillo High School on May 21, 1942. On August 14, 1943, Delores was united in marriage with Carl Edward Klemp in Dubuque, Iowa. To this union, four children were born, Karl, Diann, Roger and Kevin. Delores farmed for sixteen years and in 1965, she started working for Muters Speaker Company till 1980. She then started working at the Guttenberg Care till her retirement on April 28, 1995. Delores is survived by her children, Diann (Roger) Benzing & Roger (Nancy) Klemp; daughter in law, Diane Klemp;11 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; one sister, Helen (Don) Kann and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; 2 sons, Kevin and Karl; siblings, Mildred, Lloyd, LeRoy and Arthur; two half-brothers, Albert and Irving.Visitation: Saturday February 27, 2016, from 9:00 - 11:00 A.M. at St. John's Lutheran Church in Guttenberg, IowaFuneral: Saturday February 27, 2016, at 11:00 A.M.Interment: Garnavillo Community Cemetery Service Information A service summary is not available
