Delores A. Lammers, 89, of Dyersville, Iowa died March 25, 2017 at Hawkeye Care Center in Dubuque, Iowa. Visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 28, 2017 at Kramer Funeral Home, 750 12th Ave SW in Dyersville with vigil service at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will continue at the funeral home from 9-10 a.m. prior to funeral services on Wednesday. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 29, 2017 at St. Francis Xavier Basilica in Dyersville, Iowa with burial in the church cemetery. Rev. Jeffery Dole will officiate. Delores was born on September 4, 1927 in Petersburg, Iowa daughter of Henry and Mary (Thole) Loesche. She grew up on the family farm and attended school in Petersburg. She married Paul Lammers on June 17, 1948 in Petersburg, Iowa. She worked with Paul at Lammers Hatchery. On February 1, 1966 she and Paul opened Paul's Country Farm Store and Lammers Insurance Agency in Dyersville. In 1975 they purchased White Front Feed & Seed in Dubuque & Cascade, Iowa. She and Paul along with their 3 sons operated the businesses together until they retired. As a member of the St. Francis Xavier Parish Delores was a very devout Catholic. She was also a member of the American Legion Post 137 Auxiliary. Delores enjoyed going on many trips with Doughboy Feed, going to Arizona during the winter for 20+ years, an occasional trip to the Casino, and spending time with her family, friends and camping group. She made many new friends during her time at Hawkeye Care Center and loved the visits from her family and her special grand-dog Willa. She is survived by 3 sons & their families: Rod ( Kathy) Lammers of Dyersville, Bruce (Mary) Lammers and Brian (fiancé Tammy Waid - Link) all of Dubuque, Grandchildren: Christina (Joe) Ludwig and John (Dawn) Lammers all of Dyersville, Teresa (Chad) Coons of Anamosa, and Jake (Amy) Lammers of Dubuque; Step - Grandchildren: Matt (Cara) Moore and Josh (Rasy) Moore; Great - Grandchildren: Brandon Ludwig and Ashley (Wade) Cosselman, Alexia and Blake Lammers, Austin and Beau Coons, and Stella and Reed Lammers; Step Great - Grandchildren: Aiva, Jayden, and Jasmine Moore, and Kael and Emma Moore; Brother & Sister-n-law: Sylvester "Red" (Alma) Loesche of Dyersville, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her Husband of 63 years, Paul on October 9, 2011, parents Henry and Mary (Thole) Loesche, in-laws Herman and Anna (Billmeyer) Lammers; Siblings: Laurine (Clarence) Kruse, Lawrence (Maxine) Loesche, Andy (Melaine) Loesche, Bernice (Harry) Gassman; Brother & Sister-n-laws: William (Marie) Lammers, Delores (Charlie) Milbach, Arthur (Frances) Lammers, Herbert (Armella) Lammers, Germaine (Earl) March, and James (Dorothy) Lammers. The family would like to thank Hawkeye Care Center and their staff for the wonderful care they showed their mother Delores. Also thank you to Hospice of Dubuque and Mercy Medical Center.
