Dennis Fredlake

Dennis Fredlake, age 66, died peacefully Sunday, November 4, 2012, at his home in Osterdock. He was born on October 16, 1946 in Osterdock to Parnell and Janetta (Wolter) Fredlake. Dennis grew up in Osterdock and attended the Guttenberg School which he graduated from in 1964. Shorty after high school, Dennis joined the United States Army where he fought in the Vietnam War. He received his honorable discharge on March 7, 1968. For the next 43 years, Dennis worked for Kulhman Construction Co. as a heavy equipment operator. On April 26, 1986, Dennis and Marilyn were married in Garnavillo. While spending most of his life in Osterdock, Dennis served on the city council for 34 years. He enjoyed deer hunting, mushroom hunting, fishing, traveling and rock collecting. He was a member of the American Legion and loved spending time with his family and friends. Dennis is survived by his wife, Marilyn; two sons, Calvin (Michelle) Fredlake of Clarksville, TN and Jeffrey (Judy Tepper) Blanchard of Guttenberg; four grandchildren, Morgan and Sydney Blanchard of Seattle WA, Caden and Macee Fredlake of Clarksville TN; one brother Darrel (Shirleen) Fredlake of Guttenberg; special family friends, Robie, Amy and Laura Vonderhaar, Alan (Amy) Vonderhaar and Katie (Joe) Rausch and many other family and friends.
