Derek Bauer

Survivors include his parents: Mike Bauer of Dubuque, IA and Susan (Daniel) Lynch of Farley, IA, one sister, Nichole Bauer of Dubuque, IA, one brother, Zachary Bauer at home in Farley, IA, special friend, Robin Koss of Epworth, IA, maternal grandparents: Joe and Viola Klein of Manchester, IA, fraternal grandmother, Madonna (Vernon) Bauer Gudenkauf of Dubuque, IA, step grandparents: Art and Monica Lynch of Farley, step brothers: Brandon, Shelby and Tyler Lynch of Manchester, and many aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by fraternal grandfather, Robert Bauer. Derek was born on March 14, 1990 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the son of Michael Bauer and Susan (Klein) Lynch. He attended Xavier grade school and was a recent 2008 graduate of Western Dubuque High School. Derek enjoyed soccer, hanging out with friends, movies and anything involving sports. He especially loved spending time with his family, hunting, fishing and camping. Derek was recently accepted into the Navy and would have attended the University of Iowa. He was a member of W.D. Soccer team and made first team all conference. Friends may call from 2-9 p.m. Wednesday, October 8, 2008, at Kramer Funeral Home in Dyersville where a parish scripture service will be held at 4:30 p.m.
