Dolores B. Steffen, 92, of Dyersville, Iowa died Wednesday, December 11, 2013 at Oak Crest Manor, Dyersville, Iowa. Friends may call from 2:00 - 8:00 p.m. Friday, Dec. 13, 2013, at Kramer Funeral Home in Dyersville where a Vigil Service will be held at 6:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9:00 a.m. Saturday, December 14, 2013, at St. Francis Xavier Basilica in Dyersville with burial in the church cemetery. Rev. Noah Diehm will officiate. Dolores was born July 7, 1921, in Luxemburg, Iowa, the daughter of Peter and Catherine (Zewen) Bries. She married Clarence Steffen on January 3, 1940, in Luxemburg, Iowa. Together they farmed near Luxemburg until 1952, when they moved to Dyersville. Dolores worked for Evers Food Store for 7 years and LaVerne's Style Shop for 13 years, both in Dyersville. She was a member of St. Francis Xavier Resurrection Choir for 25 years. Survivors include her 5 children: Lester Steffen of Omaha, NE., Delbert Steffen and Allan (Lindee) Steffen both of Dyersville, Shirley Gumingo of Minneapolis, MN., Nancy Steffen of Crystal Lake, IL., 4 grandchildren: Todd (Becky) Steffen, Tricia (Jeff) Maiers, both of Dyersville, Tracy Steffen of Dubuque and Matthew Steffen of Aguanga, CA. and 6 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Clarence, in-laws: Frances (Leon) Klein, Clara (John) Burbridge, Edmund (Anna Mae) Steffen, Albert (Leone) Steffen and Esther (Donald) Ries.
