Survivors include his wife, Bonnie, 2 sons: Robert of El Cajon, CA and Charles (Linda) of Iowa City, IA; 2 daughters: Linda (George) LeMay of Worthington and Kathy (Randy) Harter of Dyersville; 6 grandchildren: Matthew (Krystal) Fettkether, Jesse (Stephanie) Fettkether, Joshua Fettkether, Brenda (Brian) Stelken, Jeffrey LeMay and Brian Steger; 4 greatgrandchildren: Kylee and Madison Fettkether and Nathan and Nicholas Stelken, one brother, Dr. Kenneth (Lois) Fettkether of Marengo, IA, and a sister-in-law, Mary Alice Fettkether of Dyersville. He was preceded in death by his parents Louis and Izel, 2 sons: David Wayne and James Allen, and a brother Howard Fettkether. Condolences accepted and information at www.kramerfuneral.com. Donald was born on July 30, 1928 in Massillon, Iowa, the son of Louis and Izel (Wolfe) Fettkether. He married Bonita "Bonnie" Mumby on October 5, 1950 in Marengo, Iowa. Donald was a graduate of St. Clements High School in Bankston, IA. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was a lifetime member of the American Legion Post 137. Don started as a buttermaker in 1953. He worked at Hickory Valley Creamery in Bankston, IA, Bottineau Creamery, N.D., Hillsmans Dairy, Marengo, IA, Cascade Creamery, Cascade, IA and Golden Star Creamery in Dyersville, IA. In 1958, Don became a business owner of Fett's Meadow Gold Dairy in Dyersville. In following years, he was a distributor for Swiss Valley and Tegeler's Dairy. He retired from home milk delivery in 1991. In the 1960's, Don expanded his business to include Fett's L.P. Gas Service. Don's hobbies were mushroom and turtle hunting, antiques, garage sales, traveling and playing cards.
