Donald F. Helle, 87, of Dyersville, Iowa died Monday, April 4, 2016, at Mercy Medical Center, Dyersville, Iowa. Visitation will be held from 2-8 p.m. Wednesday, April 6, 2016, at Kramer Funeral Home, 750 12th Ave SW in Dyersville where a parish vigil service will be held at 2 p.m. Visitation will continue Thursday from 9 – 10 a.m. at Kramer Funeral Home prior to funeral services. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, April 7, 2016, at St. Francis Xavier Basilica in Dyersville with burial in the church cemetery. Rev. Dennis Quint will officiate. Don was born October 9, 1928 in Petersburg, Iowa the son of Anton and Theresia (Nieland) Helle. He married Ardella Deppe on February 15, 1949 in Petersburg, IA. Together they farmed near Dyersville until 1987 when they moved to town. Survivors include his wife, Ardella, 2 children: Ken (Rita) Helle of Dyersville, Loras (Glenda) Helle of Sergeant Bluff, IA; a son-in-law, Jerome Heims of Ryan, a daughter-in-law, Cindy Helle of Cedar Rapids; grandchildren: Russ (Dawn) Helle, Craig (Carrie) Helle, Jennifer (Tyler) Burlage, Rory (Molly) Heims, Kurt (Suzanne) Heims and Grant Helle; eleven great grandchildren and another due in September; siblings:, Anthony (Doris) Helle of Edgewood, Toots (Cal) Bockenstedt of Luxemburg; in-laws: Rosemary Deppe of Manchester, Gladys Schemmel of Monticello, Hilda (Melvin) Reittinger of Dubuque, Sr. Julitta Deppe, OSF of Dubuque He was preceded in death by his parents, two children: Dianne Heims and Bob Helle; siblings: Vernon (Mildred) Helle and Eileen (Frank) Egloff; in-laws: William Deppe, Lawrence (Helen and Norma) Deppe, Bertha (George) Klas and Leo Schemmel.
