Donald James Steffen

Donald J. Steffen, 78, of Strawberry Point, Iowa passed away Sunday, May 3, 2020, at the Edgewood Convalescent Home in Edgewood. A private burial will take place at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Earlville. Donald was born July 18, 1941 the son of Nicholas and Theresa (Gaul) Steffen. He married Grace M. Steffen and she preceded him in death on December 17, 1996. He then married Annie Malas on August 29, 1998 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Earlville. Donnie was a farmer at heart, and loved his tractors, tools and animals. He enjoyed going to farm sales and sale barns and visiting his cousin’s Donald Gaul. He liked to go fishing and dancing and was particularly good at “the twist”. Don also enjoyed playing Bingo and Euchre. He will be dearly missed. Survivors include his wife, Annie, children: Donald Steffen Jr of Texas, Mary Jane Steffen of Vinton, and Millie the cat.
