Donald Vayle Decook

Donald Vayle DeCook, age 43, of Waterloo, Iowa, died Saturday, January 7, 2012, from injuries sustained in a one-vehicle accident near Dyersville, Iowa. Donnie graduated from Postville High School and attended University of Northern Iowa. For many years Don worked for Bertch Cabinets in Waterloo, Custom Counters & Closets, and most recently for John Deere. Don enjoyed golfing, fishing and especially deer hunting with his dad. He also enjoyed following the Iowa Hawkeyes and was a diehard Green Bay Packers fan. Donnie especially enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Don is survived by his parents, Charles and Gloria DeCook; three sisters, Shirley (Dan) Spoden, JoAnn (Richard Navarrete) Florez and Rhonda (Michael) Brandt; Aunt Ginger (Robert) Kruse, nieces and nephews, Jessica and Danele Spoden, Richard Florez, Jr., Alyssa and Alexandria Florez, Brooke Ruckdaschel, Mykaela and Jordan Brandt, Shawn and Kerra Kruse, and longtime companion Donna Jones and her children, Karine (Tony) Schager, Lindy, Eric, and Jordan, and grandchildren Chance and Callie Schager. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Jennie Carpenter Couser & Fred DeCook, Donald & Dorothy Shippy-Gage.In Lieu of all types of sympathy a memorial has been established in Donnies name.
