Dorothy A. Meyer, 79, of New Vienna, Iowa died Thursday, July 10, 2014, at the Good Neighbor Home in Manchester from complications of Alzheimer's Disease. Friends called from 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. Saturday, July 12, 2014, at Kramer Funeral Home, 750 12th Ave SW in Dyersville. Mass of Christian Burial was held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, July 12, 2014, at St. Boniface Catholic Church in New Vienna with burial in the church cemetery. Rev. Dennis Quint officiated. Lectors were Wayne Meyer and Micaela Haight and giftbearers were Jessica Dellamann, Kristy Wegmann, Danica Haight, Crystal Dolan and Nicole Meyer. Music was provided by Ann Sodawasser and the St. Boniface Choir. Eucharistic ministers were Mike and Marita Bries, Tim Pins and Verna Fangman. Pallbearers were Keith Kelchen, Casey Meyer, Rodney Meyer, Colton Haight, Brandon Meyer and Chris Tallman. Dorothy was born November 29, 1934, in Dyersville, Iowa, the daughter of Charles and Regina (Wilhelm) Wolf. She married Alvin Meyer on May 29, 1954, in Dyersville where they resided until 1966, when they moved to New Vienna. She was a loving mother and grandmother who took care of her family while working several part-time jobs. She enjoyed camping, fishing, needlework, cooking and playing cards. Survivors include, 2 daughters: Linda (Dean) Hemesath of Cedar Rapids and Polly (Mike) Haight of North Liberty, 3 sons: Steve (Susie) Meyer of Lake Delhi, Wayne (Jayne) Meyer of Dyersville and Ken (Liz) Meyer of New Vienna, 21 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, a sister, Betty Wilgenbusch of New Vienna, in-laws: Merlin (Kathy) Meyer of New Vienna and Leo Meyer, Darlene (Frank) O'Connor and Mary Ann Heinrichs, all of Dyersville, She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Alvin in 2008, siblings, Margaret (Charles) McDermott, Ivan (Anita) Wolf, Helen "Jane" (Ben) Westemeier, Rosemary Wolf and Charles (Catherine) Wolf; in-laws: John Wilgenbusch, Ginger Meyer, and Bob Heinrichs Memorials are preferred to the Good Neighbor Home.
