DYERSVILLE, IOWA Dorothy M. Pfeiler, 93, of Dyersville, and formerly of Petersburg, died July 19, 2014 at Oak Crest Manor in Dyersville. Friends may call from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 22, 2014, at Kramer Funeral Home, 750 12th Ave SW in Dyersville where a Vigil Service will be held at 4:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 23, 2014, at St. Francis Xavier Basilica in Dyersville with burial in the church cemetery. Rev. Jeffrey Dole will officiate. Dorothy was born April 12, 1921, in Petersburg, Iowa, the daughter of Alphonse and Antoinette Wegmann. She married Arthur B. Esch during August of 1948 in Petersburg, Iowa. He preceded her in death in November of 1961. She married Emmett J. Pfeiler on Sept. 25, 1965, in Dyersville. He preceded her in death in July of 2002. Dorothy was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker who spoke kindly of all. She will be greatly missed. Survivors include her 4 children: Thomas (Roberta Bobbi) Esch of Naperville, Illinois, Jan Kuhl of Perrysburg, Ohio, Terry (Laura) Esch, of Moline, Illinois, and Daniel (Nancy) Esch of Minnetonka, MN; 10 grandchildren: Kristin (James) Gecan and William Esch, Jessica (David) Blosser, Emily (Matt) Schuff, and Katherine Kuhl, Sarah and Alex Esch, and Nina, Andrew, and Brian Esch; 4 great grandchildren: Reagan and Camryn Blosser and Lily and Gabby Schuff; siblings: Harriet (Leon) Maiers, Ralph (Leona) Wegmann, Ambrose (Pat) Wegmann, and LuAnn (Robert) Mescher. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Arthur B. Esch and Emmett J. Pfeiler, a grandson, Thomas R. Esch, and siblings: Armella Wieferich, John Wegmann, Alvin Wegmann, and Eileen Meder. Memorials are preferred to St. Francis Xavier Basilica.
