Duane E Lubbers

Duane E. Lubbers was born the son Eno and Ella (Mueller) Lubbers, on February 23, 1918, near Postville. He passed away on Monday, May 22, 2006, at the Guttenberg Care Center. Duane graduated from the Postville High School in 1935, and spent many years farming and working in well and pump pulling business. In his free time Duane enjoyed hunting, fishing, trap shooting, clock building and woodworking. He was a member of the Izaak Walton league and the Iowa Fireman Association. Those left to cherish his memory are his two sons, Terry (Joan) Lubbers of Guttenberg, and William (Dianne) Lubbers of Dubuque; four grandchildren, David (Rita) Lubbers, Craig (Kari) Lubbers, Michael Lubbers and Jared Lubbers; four great-grandchildren, Dakota, Danielle, Ella, Molly; and his 1st Wife Eileen. He was preceded in death by his parents, 2nd wife, Major Joyce Kruse; one grandson, Jeffrey and one sister Ivanelle.Visitation: Thursday 5:00-8:00 P.M.
