Dustin Eglseder

Dustin Lee Eglseder was born in Guttenberg Iowa on April 18, 1985 to John and Rose Eglseder. On Wednesday July 16, 2008, Dustin passed away at home surrounded by his family after a long courageous battle with cancer. Dustin attended Guttenberg Elementary School and later Clayton Ridge High School in Guttenberg. Dustin was active in many sports such as, football, baseball, soccer and basketball as well as a member of the choir. After graduation, Dustin moved to Cedar Rapids, attended Kirkwood College and worked for RuffaloCody. He later attended Mt. Mercy College. Dustin was a devoted Chicago Cubs fan. He will go down in history as being the 1st ever fan to sing "Take Me Out To The Ball Game" at Wrigley Field during the 7th Inning Stretch after winning a contest last summer. He enjoyed hunting with the guys, especially duck hunting. On the weekends during the summer you could find him back in Guttenberg, on the river, with his buddies. Some of his other interest include; UNI Basketball and his Chevy Silverado. Dustins memory will be cherished by his Mother Rose Eglseder; Father John (Karla) Eglseder both of Guttenberg; one sister, Amy Jo Eglseder of Marion, IA; two step brothers, Derek Christoffer of Dubuque, and Daniel Christoffer of Guttenberg; paternal grandfather-NaValle (Camilla) Eglseder of Guttenberg and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Howard "Joe" and Margaret Vorwald; Paternal grandmother Delight Eglseder; two uncles, John and James Vorwald and two close friends, Michael Clinton and Travis Bolsinger.In Lieu of flowers, plants, benches, statuary, and all others gifts, the family would appreciate that all memorials be directed to the family of Dustin Eglseder.Casket Bearers: Rusty Boyce, Derek Christoffer, Max Mueller, Daniel Rodriguez, Pat Bauer, Justin Tangeman, Nick Sadewasser, and Brent ORourke.
