Earl William Schultz was born the son of Otto and Malinda (Horstman) Schultz on August 26, 1920 in Garber Iowa. He passed away Saturday March 24, 2007, at the Guttenberg Care Center. Earl received his education from the local country school and later was a heavy equipment operator for the silica sand mine in Clayton. In 1941 Earl entered the U.S. Army during WWII. After his service he was united in marriage with Rosalyn Spielbauer in 1947. Earl enjoyed hunting, playing cards, reading books especially westerns and being active with the American Legion. Those left to cherish his memory is his wife, Rosalyn Schultz; one daughter, Debbie (Dan) Wyjack of Iowa City; four sons, Dean Schultz of Clayton, David Schultz of Oxford, Jim Schultz of San Clemente, Calif. and Mark Schultz of Moberly, Mo.; four grandchildren, Sara Wyjack, Tom Wyjack, Ellie Schultz and James Schultz Jr.; one sister, Laureen (Art) Handke of Littleport. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Otto Jr., Robert and Harold; four sisters, Pearl, Louise, Henrietta and Jane. In Lieu of flowers memorial may be directed to the Guttenberg Care Center or the Clayton Garnavillo Legion.Visitation: Tuesday 10:00 A.M. till 11:00 A.M.
