Edgar Etherington

Survivors include his 2 daughters: Shirley (Tom) Gutzeit of Monticello and Nancy (David) Cink of Mantica, CA, 2 sons: Rick (Mary) of Garner, IA and Mike (Linda) of Titonka, IA., 8 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, 3 brothers: Bob (LaVon) of Brooklyn Center, MN, Ralph (Roberta) of New Hope, MN. and Jerry (Judy) of Mapleton, MN, 1 sister: Vivian Thomas of Lake Crystal, MN and a brother-in-law James Roberts of Lake Crystal, MN. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Faye in 2000, a son in infancy, 1 sister, Berneatha Roberts and a sister in infancy, Bonnie. Edgar was born on March 1, 1919 in Lake Crystal, MN, the son of Roy and Elma (Rollings) Etherington. He married Faye Hakes on Nov. 23, 1938 in Garner, Iowa. Together they farmed near Plymouth, Clear Lake and Woden, Iowa, then in Talmoon, MN for 25 years. They moved to the Monticello area in 1995. When the chores were done, Edgar loved to fish. He liked to play cards and could remember and tell jokes well. Friends may call from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. Tuesday, January 16, 2007, at Kramer Funeral Home in Monticello. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, January 16, 2007, at Kramer Funeral Home, in Monticello, Iowa with burial in Oakwood Cemetery, Monticello, Iowa.
