Survivors include his children: Janet Heery of Dyersville, IA, Eldon (Mary Ann) of Cascade, IA, Thomas (Lou Ann) of Cedar Rapids, IA, and Terry of Peoria, IL, daughter-in-law: Maureen Woodward of Oelwein, IA, grandchildren and great grandchildren, 4 sisters: Rose Nebel of Dubuque, IA, Jeanette Engler of Minneapolis, MN, Mary Knepper of Dyersville, IA, and Betty Arthofer of Dubuque, IA, and a brother-in-law, Herb Jasper of Dyersville, IA. He was preceded in death by his wife, 2 sons: Dennis and Ronald, siblings: Helen Jasper, Opal Ament, and John (Phyllis) Weber & Donnie Weber. 5 brothers-in-law: Leonard Nebel, John Engler, Loras Knepper, Don Arthofer and Edward (Margaret) Hess; 2 sisters-in-law: Martha (Joe) Nachtman and Julia (Albert) Budden. Ed was born on October 2, 1918, in Dyersville, Iowa the son of Ben and Helen (Steffen) Weber. He married Helen M. Hess on August 6, 1940, in Dyersville, Iowa. Together they raised 6 children in the Dyersville area. He began working for Silver Streak Manufacturing and later for John Deere Dubuque Works for over 20 years. Some of his pleasures were hunting, fishing, camping, building, gardening, cutting firewood, and being outdoors. He was a lifetime member of the Dyersville Sportsman's Club. Friends may call from 3 - 7 p.m., Thursday, March 19, 2009, at Kramer Funeral Home in Dyersville where a parish scripture service will be held at 3 p.m. Memorials are preferred.
