Survivors include her husband of 56 years, Ed, 6 sons: Ron (Marcia) of Worthington, Rick (Mary), of Dyersville, Mike (Sue) of New Vienna, Mark (Patty) of Dyersville, Dan (Kelli) of Epworth, Don (Joan) of Dyersville, 12 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, one sister, Isabel Manuel of Platteville, WI, sister and brother-in-law: Delores Langkamp of Platteville, WI, Kermit Sherman of Belmont, WI. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Guerden Langkamp, two sisters: Marian Whitaker, Bea Sherman, and two brothers-in-law: Donald Manuel, Dale Whitaker. Ellie was born on May 5, 1928 in Platteville, Wisconsin, the daughter of Albert and Theresa (Klar) Langkamp. She married Edward L. Leuchs on February 7, 1953 in St. Mary's Catholic Church, Platteville, WI. Ellie worked at Dubuque Packing Co. after high school until 1955 when they moved to Dyersville. Ellie was a fulltime homemaker, an avid Bingo player and enjoyed baking for her family. Her greatest joy was raising her family and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Friends may call from 2 - 8 p.m. Friday, August 28, 2009 at Kramer Funeral Home in Dyersville, Iowa where an American Legion Auxiliary Rosary will be held at 4 p.m. Memorials are preferred.
