Elizabeth Albang

Survivors include numerous nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters: Ruth Smalley, Virginia Albang, Dolores Cooksley, Lucille Olson, and a brother, Lawrence Albang. Betty was born on October 11, 1928 in Dyersville, Iowa, the daughter of Carl and Josephine (Luensmann) Albang. She was a housekeeper for various priests since she was 19 years old, including Fr. Roman Schares at St. Francis Xavier in Dyersville, then at St. Joseph's in Cresco and again at St. Francis in 1982 retiring when Fr. Kruse arrived. Betty loved tending to her flower garden, bird watching and was a wonderful and talented cook. She had a passion for decorating the Corpus Christi Chapel with flowers, alter cloths and candles through out the years. Memorials are preferred and may be directed to Heartland Hospice of Dubuque.
