DYERSVILLE, IOWA Eugene L. "Pete" Boge, 90, of Dyersville, Iowa died Friday, June 28, 2013, at the Guttenberg Municipal Hospital. Friends may call from 2:00 - 8:00 p.m. Monday July 1, 2013, at the Kramer Funeral Home in Dyersville where a vigil service will be held at 4:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 2, 2013, at St. Francis Xavier Basilica, Dyersville, Iowa with burial in the church cemetery. Officiating will be Rev. Noah Diehm. Pete was born August 15, 1922, in Earlville, Iowa the son of William and Mary (Roling) Boge. He was a 1940 graduate of Oneida H.S. Pete married Mary Huberty on October 21, 1944, in Dyersville, Iowa. He was a local car salesman for 41 years and was a member of the Dyersville Volunteer Fire Dept. for many years until he retired at the age of 50. Pete enjoyed life to the fullest, whether he was fishing, playing cards, watching baseball games or visiting with anyone who would see him on his porch and stop to visit. He especially enjoyed his family and close friend and fishing companion, Bob Leigh. Survivors include 4 sons: Steve (Marie) of Clear Lake, IA, Bruce (Lisa) of Dallas, TX, Brian (Donna) of Dyersville, and Neal (friend Pam) of Garland, TX; 3 daughters: Judy (Tom) Wilhelm of Dyersville, IA, Marla Schmitt of Dubuque, and Beverly (Bob) Engelken of New Vienna; a son-in-law, Terry Boge-Johnson, of Iowa City; 17 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Mary in 2004, a son, Ken in 2007, a grandchild, Kyle Boge in 2002, a son-in-law, Bruce Jacobs in 1972, siblings: Clarence, Alvin, Emil, Ambrose and Theodore Boge.
