Eugene Horstman

Eugene Lyle Horstman was born the son of Wilbert and O'Tillie (Roeben) Horstman, March 15, 1926, in Guttenberg. He died Tuesday, November 16, 2004, at Guttenberg Municipal Hospital. Eugene graduated from the Guttenberg High School in 1944, and served his country in the United States Army during World War II. On May 1, 1948, he was united in marriage with Hilda Paulsen at St Pauls Church in Postville. He worked for the Guttenberg Press; Kuempels Chime Co.; Oil Distributor and later in life for Browns Sales and Leasing. His enjoyments included spending time with his grandchildren; baseball; Iowa Hawkeyes and dancing the night away with Hilda. Survivors include one daughter, Twila (David) Wubben of Mason City; two sons, Lee Horstman of Guttenberg, and David (Shirley) Horstman of East Dubuque, Illinois; five grandchildren, Cassandra and Kayla Horstman, Michael, Scott and Kati Wubben; one sister, Evelyn Moser of Rock Island, Illinois and one brother, Loraine (June) Horstman of Guttenberg.
